City of Neubrandenburg, Mecklenburg

The city with four gates lies on the Tollensesee surrounded by superb countryside and is the largest city in east Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. As well as the four ornate city gates in North German Gothic brick there are the best preserved mediaeval city walls in North Germany, with their gatehouses and earthworks. The city offers visitors a variety of culture and sport programmes from Philharmonic concerts and exhibitions in the Jahnsportforum to guided tours round the city and the regional museum. The Tollensesee lies in beautiful countryside and there are all facilities for riding, cycling and rambling and other open air activities.
